Allies and Enemies
The Dominion has made its share of allies and enemies. The Dominion is on good speaking terms with the Consortium of Civilized Worlds, United Worlds of Warlock, and various non-aligned groups. The Dominion has been openly lending support (including some starships and weapons) to the Free Worlds Council. The Dominion marks the Transgalactic Empire, Atorian Empire, and the Mechanoids as dangerous enemies. To a lesser extent (and they are currently unaware of it) the Coalition States are regarded as hostile and have been targeted for neutralization.
Though not allied or neutral, Lazlo, New Lazlo, and the NGR are friendly to the Dominion. Of those three, only Lazlo and New Lazlo are aware of the Dominion's extraterrestrial nature. Lazlo and New Lazlo have rented dock space for their budding space programs. They are also in extensive contact with the Brai'nhor.
The Dominion has grown concerned about the recent wars between the Coalition States, Free Quebec and Tolkeen. This may force the Dominion to move up its plans for the three nations. The Dominion, in regard of the Tolkeen-Coalition States conflict, took a neutral stance, though Emperor Arcanis has gone underground in aid of Tolkeen, though it is widely believed that Tolkeen will lose horribly. Tolkeen was lost. In the aftermath of Tolkeen's defeat, Emperor Arcanis chose to make the Dominion's presence known. What troops could be spared were dispatched to safe guard those fleeing the fall of Tolkeen.
Predictably, the CS started to lose every encounter they had with the Dominion Regulars and the Reserves sent to Earth. In a grim broadcast to Chi-town, Emperor Arcanis made Prosek aware that the Coalition was far from safe.
Perhaps the Dominion';s greatest enemy is the A'karim. Bent on the total destruction of all other races, the A'karim have ravaged star system after star system. They possess amazing levels of technologies, indeed they possess living technology.
Little
is known about the A'karim. They're home star system was believed to be
Tau Ceti, they are vaguely humanoid, and they are genocidal xenophobes.
Other then these few facts, and what little technology that was captured
recently, they are a mystery. With the loss of Midway, and the formal Declaration
of War received from the A'karim, the Dominion moved decisively to step
up starship production and the 'purchase' of slaves from Atlantis and Phase
World. Mercenaries were also hired.
CyberSuits Damocles
Not to long after the Marauder's Mercenaries colonization of the Alpha Centauri worlds, the corporation known as CyberSuits Damocles came into being.
Most people from the MM colonized worlds don't mind CyberSuits domination of some markets, but coming from the other side of the coin their seems to be some rivalry from DynaTech Industries. The native Alpha Centauri Company resents the recent competition from CyberSuits and is pushing to have some of the recent market grabbing done by CyberSuits curbed. People figure that not to long the companies will get back to a balance once the novelty of CyberSuits wears off.
In regards to CyberSuits biggest deal yet, their main liaison with Marauder’s Mercenaries is through a unit of elite test pilots, who are rumored to be able to pilot anything, called the 243rd Guinea Pigs. The 243rd are commanded by an In’vailin Lt. Colonel named Mathew Hallaway, the Colonel is incredible charismatic and has an air of leadership that is indisputable. Of the large amount of troops under Marauder’s control in this area, only a few companies are equipped with CyberSuits merchandise. The equipment is still being tested, but as of yet all signs show of good things to come from CyberSuits Damocles.
The president of CyberSuits
Damocles is a wolfen from Phase World by the name of Korey Lanthorpe the
Third. He was found and named by an influential human family who took him
in and raised him as their own. During his childhood others ridiculed him
because of his family and that forced him to defend his family’s
honor and made him aggressive and this aggression made him need to succeed
before everyone else. So far this channeled aggression has been helpful
and has propelled him to where he is today.
The Orbital Stations:
Freedom Station:
Laika Station:
Laika Station was the least concerned by the Dominion's annex of the CAN Republic and the moon, though there were many who were chagrined at all those resources forever being out of reach.
Yuro Station:
Yuro Station is the only one at odds with the Dominion, now and during the early days. They continued waves of attacks, trying to weaken or cripple the Arc Angel, and later, Farpoint Station. When the Dominion began to gain strength and numbers, Yuro Station, despite being factured internally, sought to poison others about the intentions of the Dominion. Among the efforts, they focused on the annex of the moon by force, trying to convince others that they could be next.
This endeavor didn’t bear fruit, and today, Yuro Station has almost no voice, as the Dominion has proven itself to be a worthy ally, both in its dealing with the stations, and with its treatment of the CAN Republic.
Outcast Station is watched by the Home Fleet, but otherwise pretty much left to themselves, aside from some trade to and from for raw materials and limited technologies trades to some of the more powerful factions on the stations.
The Moon and Other Planets:
The CAN Republic and the Moon:
The Dominion has also established several bases and mining stations on the moon, where the resources of the moon are extracted for use. Also present on the moon is an branch of the Dominion Academy, where recruits undergo low gee training in lunar gravity.
The Venusans are as alien as life could possibly be to survive the hellish atmosphere. The Venusans, for the time being, have been left ignorant of the fact that there is life elsewhere in the star system.
Jupiter:
Saturn:
In 4DY, the Dominion boldy moved to annex the CAN Republic along with the territories of the moon. This came, along with the addition of the CAN Republic as a member state of the Dominion. In the years following, the Dominion gained many member races, as the Dominion's sphere of influence expanded
It was in late 35DY, just 3 months prior to the declaration of war by the A'karim on February 21st, 36DY, that the Dominion encountered the Krellians on the fringe of Dominion space. After a brief battle, the Krellians admitted defeat, and, as is their custom when bested, joined the victor, namely the Dominion.
Three months into the war, the Draemians joined the Dominion, after the negotiation team saved the Draemian council of elders from a Dark Lord.
At the same time as the Draemians were joining, the Dominion entered into negotiations with the Dratoul Conclave, a race that is located beyond the current rim of Dominion territories. It is hoped that they will enter into an alliance with the Dominion, given the current threat posed by the A'karim.
